'I Am A Fantasy' - Margaret Harrison and The Girls - ends 21 May 2011

The Girls new static performance evokes ill-fated fairytale heroines. The enchanting tableau gives way to unnerving rumblings.
The Girls nestle top-to-tail, doll-like, in a claustrophobic, padded, blood red, silky, lined womb-like armoire. The unsettling tableau is partly inspired by Charles Perrault's fairytale about two rival sisters, 'Diamonds and Toads'. When the favoured sister speaks, diamonds and flowers fall from her mouth; but vipers and toads fall from her sister's mouth. The armoire is a collaboration with Hannah Stanton.
The Girls new tableau vivant, 'Diamond & Toads', will take place:
Thursday 14 April 2011: 6.30-7.30pm
Thursday 5 May 2011: 7-8pm. Curator Beverley Knowles will be on hand to answer any questions.
Saturday 21 May 2011: 2-3pm
Free entry. 15 April - 21 May 2011. Preview 14 April 6-8pm. PayneShurvell, 16 Hewett Street (off Curtain Rd), London, EC2A 3NN
