Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival
Performance artist duo 'The Girls' present a reinterpretation of Edwardian Bournemouth's long forgotten 'Grand Grotesque Carnival', a surreal, masked spectacle which took place in 1910. Directed by and featuring The Girls, along with associate directors 'We 3', and friends; the project is a special commission for Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival.

VAUXHALL ART CAR BOOT FAIR 2011, LONDON
Vauxhall Art Commission: POSTED (Julia Royse / postedprojects.co.uk) and The Girls will transform one of four sponsored vehicles. Curated by Karen Ashton.
Julia Royse, independent curator and director of POSTED – a project using art to celebrate ‘Post’ and the dying art of letter writing – is collaborating with emerging artist duo The Girls to transform a Vauxhall postal van into a cross between an outsider art-inspired travelling postal museum and a shrine to our Postal heritage. Visit the ‘museum’ and be inspired to put pen to paper on beautiful stationery by artists including Tracey Emin that will be available to purchase on the day, along with a first class stamp!
